There is acid in soda that can wear away the enamel and also soda stains the teeth if it is a dark soda. Soda's also contain a lot of sugar that can get into the grooves of the teeth and can cause decay.

Sugary and Acidic drinks (i.e. soft drink/juice) just make this a double wammy. If you have weak enamel already, avoid these drinks/foods as much as possible, but if you must imbibe them, at least drink them quickly, do not brush you teeth until you have neutralized with water.
