In general the aim or intention of an artist is to create. To represent something (a myth, a narrative, a record of an event, emotions) to an audience. The actions of an artist follow the drive to create. Usually attending schools and learning are the first actions, along with practice, practice, practice, using a variety of tools and materials. Viewing art and talking about art with others is important, as is self promotion and understanding how galleries work. The work has to come first, before anything else an artist must have a body of work.
Intentions are the thoughts or plans a person has to do something, while actions are the actual behaviors or steps taken to carry out those intentions.
