Processed Refined White Sugar (whether made from Sugar Cane or Sugar Beets) is harmful to the human body. Raw Sugar has zero Vitamins and zero minerals after it is processed and refined. When ingested, the Vitamins and MInerals necessary to break it down are taken from th eclosest source fopr these nutients...the human body. I highly recommend two books that will open your eyes to the truth about Sugar. Before I read these two publications, I thought Sugar was my friend. *The China Study* $24.99 [tax not incl.] *Sugar Blues* (by Wiliam Dufty) $6.99 [tax not incl] The China Study can be obtained from a Library, as a check out. You could read it and not be out any money...unless you made the mistake of not returning it to the Library by its *Due* date. So, if you decide to read it, I can almost guarantee, that you will not feel the same way about sugar, or the Sugar Industry, Medical Community, or the Mental Health Community. Each oif those businesses, profits from the sale of Sugar. If you don't belive me, take my challenge and read the books I have named, above. What do you have to lose? If I am full of it, then I will admit it. But in order for me to admit to being wrong, I require proof from you that what I'm saying is not true. So, the best way I can think of to do that, is for you to read the book. And if after you have done that, you still thgnk I'm full of crap. I will admit I was wrong. I hop ethatis an ameable solution. Let me know. I will discuss a compromise. If necessary. I want no hassles form offering a bit of my knowledge that is not widely beleived. But it is also not widely publicized. So the Industries that depend on Sugar for their livelyhood, do not like it when somebody gets to close to their wallets. Knowledge *is* Power. What a person knows has been known to get him/her killed...ooops. sorry, come up missing! :) Thanks for reading this. Alkai.
vitamins and minerals
Vitamins don't provide energy - or in any case, they don't provide any significant amount of energy. Just like minerals, we need them in small amounts, but NOT for their energy content.
No, not all foods contain vitamins and minerals. Only healthy foods do. This includes fruit, vegetables, lean red meat, poultry, fish, beans, lentils, nuts and grains.
Every food has some sort of "nutrient" in it. And most foods have some vitamin or mineral content (however small this may be). The only exception is white sugar - this has no vitamins (wheras brown sugar has some vitamin/mineral content), but it does have nutrient value (it's full of calories). All fruits and vegetables have vitamins in, white bread and breakfast cerals are fortified with vitamins and minerals (have them added). Plain white flour is also now fortifed with vitamins and minerals. Meat, fish and dairy all contain vitamins and minerals. It's difficult to find a food without vitamins in, with the exception of white sugar.

Foods can be grouped in various ways according to their nutritional content, source, or type. For example the three main types of foods are proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Then there are the micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. Some of the best sources of vitamins and minerals are found in fruits and vegetables.
Analysis of fruit and vegetable juice is performed so that we can learn the benefits from eating them. Carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins are investigated.
* low fat * high protein * complex carbohydrates * provides a variety of vitamins and minerals * low sodium content * low calorie * provides energy
Citrus fruits, lemons included, contain sugars, polysaccharides, organic acids, lipids, carotenoid (pigment), vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, bitter limonoids, and volatile components.
Soda contains a lot of sugar in it. Not only that, but it has a very low nutritional content. Sugar is ok in small amounts, but you should try to get the vitamins and minerals that your body needs with your sugar. With barely any of these, you're getting a lower ratio of healthy necessities to your tasty (but extra) carbohydrates. More useful info is contained in the related links, below this answer.
Dates contain Vitamins A1, B1, B2, and B5. They also have the minerals potassium, iron and fluorine. Found this information at Buzzle .com.
It is important to minimize the alkali metal content of concrete because concrete contains trace amounts of alkali metals like sodium and other minerals and if moisture is present then the sodium reacts with the minerals in the concrete, forming a gel and the gel may absorb water and expand causing cracks in the concrete.
