What are the basic need for all living cells?

There is NO basic need for ALL living cells. That said, most living cells require oxygen and/or sunlight. There are some, however, that live deep in the ocean where there is no sun. They have adapted to living down there and some have even evolved to be blind. Deep, deep, in the ocean organisms have been found that need no oxygen. It has been suggested that some of them use other chemicals, like sulfer, to fulfill similar requirements.
