Basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety are essential for survival, whereas higher needs such as self-fulfillment or self-esteem are important for personal growth and well-being. Without meeting basic needs, it is difficult to focus on higher needs. In the hierarchy of needs, basic needs form the foundation on which higher needs can be built.

First Time Dog Owner - A Jack Russell Terrier is not the breed for you. His high energy and intelligence will overwhelm you. This breed needs firm handling, despite its size, as it has the classic terrier temperament.
First you need to know that there are four breeds that fall under the category of pitbull. American Pitbull Terrier. English Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and English Stafforshire Terrier. Blue nose, red nose etc. are simply colors that are desirable to some people, and that may have certain characteristics in common, but they are not separate pitbull breeds. Sorry. It may disappoint many people to learn that no bullydogs should never have huge outsized heads, or be huge or giant dogs. Bullydogs were bred for fighting, and a huge dog with an outsized head may look scary, but it simply can't move swiftly enough and would be pulverized by a smaller, faster, more agile dog. So to answer your question, while you will see bullydogs with big heads, big bodies etc., they have most likely been outbred at some point in their history with American Bulldogs, or English Bulldogs, Rottweilers or some other large heavy headed breed. A good example or specimen of any of the four pittbull breeds should have a head in proportion to its body. Though some dogs may be smaller or bigger than others, the head should look like it "fits". My own American Pitbull female is large at 65 pounds (she's got a little middle-aged spread) and has a wide jaw and forehead, although she is still somewhat sleek and feminine. A handsome strong and muscular frame with typical bullydog stance with a bulldog head that fits it's body is beautiful, indeed. I have to add that anytime I talk about pitbulls, I have to stress that all bullydogs should never, never, ever be aggressive to humans. They were bred to be "other dog aggressive" but never aggressive towards people. A pitbull that is aggressive to people has usually been made that way by ignorant owners. Pitbulls by nature are friendly, happy-go-lucky and will lick you to death with that big grinning mouth. An aggressive bullydog needs special training and commitment to be rehabilitated to be safe around children and other animals. This should be done under the supervision of a good professional dog trainer who is familiar with the breed. Anyone with a bullydog should be an ambassador for the breed, and show a friendly, obedient and happy dog.
An individual's needs include food, shelter and water. These three basic needs will help a person to stay healthy and safe.
