WaMu free checking no longer exsist. It has been replaced with Chase total checking. There are many complaints about this and plenty of unhappy ex-WaMu customers as a result of the Chase take over.

Washington Mutual Bank is no longer in business. It was purchased by Chase Bank. Chase Bank does offer free checking. I'm a Chase Bank customer and they are great!

Wamu bank, which is now called Chase, has free online bill payments if you use a Chase personal or business banking account (unless it's a Chase Customized Checking account, in which case you pay 5$ a month.)
