What a coincidence I have just done this in school and many people have different opinions, some people say it must be abolished because of some of the negative effects such as ladies forced to undergo abortions, sterilizations and such and some people say it should not be abolished because it is helping china's increasing population slowly decrease.

A lot!! When couples can only have one child but have a preference on it's sex what do you think might happen? Hundreds and hundreds of people get abortions if they are having a girl because people in China do not want them. It's proven that boys are more likely to take care of the parents when they get older. It's a smart investment to have a boy. If they do not have an abortion, the baby girl's are often left on the side of the road to be left for dead or to be picked up by an orphannage. They are overflowing with unwanted baby girls, and some boys. And what happens when all the baby girls are killed off? Who will the boys marry? Girls are being kidnapped and forced into marriage because there are NO girls in some places. And what happens if you have twins??

Basically, it's a good idea, but with NOT WORK.
