Both formulas, shampoo and conditioner separately and a two in one formula, are supposed to work identically; however, there are some benefits to using shampoo and conditioner separately rather than in a single formula. Using them separately makes hair softer and cleaner. Additionally, hair rinses better and doesn't come out really tangly and dry.
