A lot of the Pokemon that you can catch in the games usually take time to evolve (which can be a pain sometimes, trust me, I also have Pokemon black) depending on the Pokemon you are able to encounter, so that be a hard one I recommend you look for rustling grass, look in places farther in the game and choose wisely which starter you choose, for example: Snivy is so cool looking XD, but has a lot more weaknesses than Oshawott and Tepig, Oshawott is cute and only has two weaknesses....i think >.< and Tepig has 3 or 4 weaknesses.... im not sure about Tepig that much Im not an expert on Pokemon thats for sure, hope this helps.
