Go into the menu and look for picture mode settings. The TV might be in the "store or demo" mode. These settings would make the picture too bright for home use.
It depends on your camera's make and model (which you don't give). A digital camera should have settings software inside that will allow you to disable or enable the various settings, either sound recording or playing, etc.
