The Catholic Church teaches that sexuality is a gift from God which must only be exercised in the marital act between a husband and a wife for their mutual love and open to creating new life. Any sexuality outside of that is disordered and a perversion of what God created as a great good, and thus makes sex a sin instead of the great good which God intended it to be.

The catholic teaching about sexuality is that it is a gift from God,sex is good,-just are intellect, free will and imagination. But like all other gifts God has given us, it needs to be used within reasonable bounds. Often it requires drastic efforts to control because sex is sacred and married has a legal to practice it.

The Catholic Church teaches that sex is a great gift from God which is given for the dual purposes of deepening the love between a husband and a wife and for the procreation of children. Anything outside of these dual purposes is a perversion of this gift from God and a sin. Our Lady at Fatima revealed to Lucy:

.

"More souls go to Hell because of sins of the flesh than for any other reason. "

"Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much. " "Woe to women lacking in modesty.

.

.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches about the different aspects of sexuality, and how they affect all aspects of the human person. The Sixth Commandment (You shall not commit adultery.) addresses sexuality and at the end of paragraph 2336 says:

The tradition of the Church has understood the sixth commandment as encompassing the whole of human sexuality.

.

Paragraphs 2332 and 2362 refer to these different aspects, 2337 and 2395 refer to sexuality and chastity, 2332 concerns the capacity to love, 2362 explains the dignity of human sexuality, disordered sexuality is covered in paragraphs 2351-57, 2380, 2388-90, diversity and complementarity of the sexes, 269-73, 1605, 2333; equal dignity of man and woman, 369, 2334, 2393; fertility and in 2370; the importance of the conjugal union in 2335; integration of sexuality in the human person and chastity is covered in 2337. God creating man as male and female in 355 and 383; modesty and chastity in 2522, and the significance of sexuality in marriage is covered in 2360-63. Please see the links below for the Catechism references and to read Pope Paul VI's Encyclical Humanae Vitae.

Catholic AnswerSexuality in marriage is covered under the Sixth Commandment (You shall not commit adultery) in paragraphs 2331 - 2400 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Marriage is addressed specifically in paragraphs 2360-2363 (The Love of Husband and Wife), 2364-2365 (Conjugal fidelity), 2366-2372 (The fecundity of marriage), The gift of a child (2373-2379) and Offenses Against the Dignity of Marriage including Adultery (2380-2381), Divorce 2382-2386) and Other offenses against the dignity of marriage 2386 polygamy, 2388 Incest, 2389 Sexual abuse, 2390 Free union, concubinage, rejection of marriage, inability to make long-term commitments, and 2391 "right to a trial marriage". See the link below to read the complete paragraphs in the Catechism.

Long story short, sex in marriage is to reflect and mirror the love of Christ for His Church. It is to be selfish and self-giving. It is to be in love, and open to life - each and every act of sex. Any sex outside of a committed life-long marriage between one man and one woman for the mutual love of one for the other, and in openness to life results in serious sin which would necessitate repentance, confession, and absolution before receiving any sacraments.

The tradition of the Church has understood the sixth commandment as encompassing the whole of human sexuality.

.

from The Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition, English translation 1994

The Sixth Commandment

.

You shall not commit adultery. (Ex 20:14;Deut 5:18)

.

You have heard that it was said, "You shall not commit adultery." But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Mt 5:27-28)

.

2331 "God is love and in himself he lives a mystery of personal loving communion. Creating the human race in his own image . . ., God inscribed in the humanity of man and woman the vocation, and thus the capacity and responsibility, of love and communion." (Familiaris consortio 11)

.

"God created man in his own image . . . male and female he created them"; (Gen 1:27) He blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply"; (Gen 1:28) "When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and name them Man when they were created." (Gen 5:1-2)

.

2332 Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul. It especially concerns affectivity, the capacity to love and to procreate, and in a more general way the aptitude for forming bonds of communion with others.

.

2336 Jesus came to restore creation to the purity of its origins. In the Sermon on the Mount, he interprets God's plan strictly: "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Mt 5:27-28) What God has joined together, let not man put asunder. (Cf. Mt 19:6).

The Old Catholic Church is Catholic in name only, as they left the Catholic Church after the First Vatican Council, and no longer follow the Holy Father. As such, they have become a protestant church, albeit with a real priesthood, perhaps closer to the Orthodox. Nevertheless, as they no longer acknowledge the Vicar of Christ, their views on things like sex, started out as Catholic, and then changed as the people's opinions change. The Catholic Church has always viewed sex as a gift from God to be exercised responsibility only in the marital covenant between a one man and a one woman in a lifetime committed relationship. Any sex outside of the marital covenant is a sin, and nothing more than selfish self-indulgence. Whether the Old Catholic Church still holds this view in all its members is up for debate.
