Well, for me, it's pretty much zero, because I don't engage in any risky behavior and don't have any conditions that require me to get transfusions or blood products.

For you, who knows. If you're concerned about it, have yourself tested.

How is the risk of hiv infection related to the number of people with whom a person is sexually active?

It involves the number of chances you have to get the HIV virus. The more people you have unprotected sex with the greater the chances you have of catching HIV. If you knew that none of the people you have unprotected sex with were HIV negative then it wouldn't matter. But since you can't be completely sure everyone you have a sexual encounter with does not carry the HIV virus then never have unprotected sex.

Can you catch hiv from letting someone penetrate inside for a moment?

Theoretically yes. Exposure to HIV does not have to be long for transmission to occur. Are your chances low? Yes. Chances are increased based on a number of factors: - Amount of virus exposed to - Length of exposure - Viral load of HIV positive partner - Availability of HIV to enter your blood stream With a moment of penetration, there may not be enough time to do damage to either the vaginal or anal wall to expose someone to HIV. Chances are not 0%, however. The only sure way to know is to get tested.
