This depends whether you mean Jesus as the Word of God or the written word of God as in The Bible, although there are a number of common characteristics.

Since the written word of God has a divine author, its qualities proceed from the character of the divine author. One is that it is without error, since God Himself has that quality. It is also in a sense of eternal, although it came into being at a particular place and time in human history.

The book of Hebrews describes the written word as 'quickand powerful sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit and discerning the thoughts and intents of the heart." The word quick, meaning ''living", since it is the word of the living God, and powerful, since it is the word of the almighty God who is able to perform whatever He promises in His word.

Another important characteristic of the written word is that it is totally trustworthy from beginning to end. (see Numbers 23:19 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17). This again is so because this is God's very nature -that He cannot lie.

Jesus nature as the living word is described in the Gospel of John chapter one. As Jesus is the 'light of the world'' so the word of God is a ''lamp to our feet and a light to our path'' (Psalm 119:105).
