Federal mandatory minimums are set in grams, not ounces. You have 60 grams of meth.

For 10g meth you get five years. For 100g you get 10 years.

These are MINIMUM sentences--if the judge wants to give you 10 years for your 60g of meth, he can.

Can a father retain custody with meth charges pending?

That depends on prevailing law in the state where he lives, but generally, charges are not a conviction and will have no bearing on custody, unless of course, the child was found to be living in a meth house or there are other emergency reasons why a child may be reassigned on a temporary basis. Otherwise, charges are not convictions and may have no bearing up and until that time a conviction comes down. Then custody may be modified based on the same.

Are the Effects of Crystal Meth Reversible?

Depends on the amount used and frequency of use. It also depends on the effects of meth. If someone smoked meth and did not take care of their oral hygiene, the damage to their teeth is not reversible. Any brain damage that occurred due to excessive meth use is likely to be repaired, but it is not certain whether this would be completely reverisble or not (it would likely depend on the amount + frequency of use). Weight loss and skin problems will likely gradually improve once meth use is ceased. Resultant psychological issues will likely get better the longer that the person is abstinent from meth use.
