Yes, you can generally use a GE universal remote with a Seiki TV by programming it to recognize the TV's codes. First, consult the GE universal remote's instruction manual for the code list specific to Seiki TVs. Typically, you'll need to enter a specific code or follow a setup process that involves powering on the TV and pressing a sequence of buttons on the remote. If the first code doesn't work, try additional codes until you find one that successfully controls the TV.
No, Samsung does not make Seiki TVs. Seiki Digital is an independent company that produces its own line of budget-friendly televisions. While both brands are in the electronics market, they operate separately and have different manufacturing processes and product lines.
I heard from a saleman at HHGregg that Seiki uses Samsung parts. And for anyone who can't get their Comcast or Direct TV remote to learn the Seiki code... try using a Samsung code. It worked for me, I used code 10178!
Avoid Magnavox.

While Seiki may design its products in the United States, the actual manufacturing process occurs overseas.
I don't show a code yet for that brand of TV, however, you can perform a power scan to see if you can find a code on the remote that will work. I have provided the power scan instructions.Remote: Basic Remote (Television Only)Turn the Television On.Press and hold the clear TV button for three seconds until the LED flashes.Press and release the red TV Power button.Press and release the Up or Down Arrow button once every second on the remote until the television turns off. After the television turns off, press and release the OK button.Test functionality with the TV.Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.Just did some research and found that SEIKI is made in LG so I used a LG code on my dish and it worked the code that worked for me was 718 hopes this helps others
