It wouldn't be exactly dangerous to have a cat and a fish at the same time, but there are some risks. If the fish is in a tank or bowl that has no top, the cat may try to stick it's paw in and "get" or possibly eat. Since cat's are playful animals and they have instincts of their relatives, the cat may consider the fish as prey. Unless there is a top on a fish tank or bowl, or if you put the bowl out of reach of the cat, the fish should be safe.
