Death -___-, Which is somewhat ambiguous. I don't believe after 33 years on methadone, I have ever heard anyone discuss injecting methadone. First off it comes in several types, which makes no right answer. As with everything else regarding opiates, the dose plays the largest role in answering the question. If you find methadone that will break down, the size of dose is going to dictate if have an early demise. My question is why would you shoot methadone? There are so many other drugs you can get your altered state of consciousness from. Methadone is primarily a N.R.T. substance, so use it what it is designed for. No lectures but get cleaned up and life up to your potential instead of hiding behind a drug induced state of ambiguity, which you are really going to regret later; if there is a later and from the type of questions you ask, I don't see there being much of a later if you don't start doing some real research prior to having these great thoughts.
infection
if you don't filter it, into your veins

Methadone can be a dangerous drug. It is very powerful and very addictive. You need to be careful to follow the doctor's orders exactly, and not to take other medications on tops of your methadone. If you follow the prescription, methadone can be very effective. You just need to keep the dangers in mind at all times so you don't accidently overdose.
It would work just like injecting any other drug. You would get the "high"quicker but it would not last as long as swallowing it. Just try snorting works almost as fast as injecting it but the high lasts quiter a bit longer
Injecting what? The question is incomplete.
Injecting to fast
No there is no opium in Methadone
Only methadone will be detected because the methadone urine test is specifically used to detect methadone.
Methadone comes in liquid (usually reddish or clear), pills, white wafers which come in 40 mgs and can be broken down into 4 10 mg parts (just like a large white pill), and also in orangish wafers that are like the white ones except they disolve very quickly in water to "enter the system" faster. The liquid is usually concentrated and when dispensed is mixed with water before given to the patient . Although you would get more out of injecting the concentrated methadone and almost nothing out of the mixed most people in my experience dont inject it (usually if they are going to inject something its going to be heroin over methadone) because of the way methadone is given, meaning that usually the liquid is only given to addicts/former addicts for opioid management and the pills to pain patients, the liquid is always mixed with water before its given out and if somone does have the concentrated stuff it was either stolen or bought on the "street"
