Any dangers of interfaith dialog are in the motives of the participants. The usual purpose of interfaith dialog is learning and understanding, or accomplishing a mutual goal. If some of the participants don't share these motives or have a personal agenda to accomplish from the dialog, then the purpose of the dialog can be derailed or create hostility and accomplishing a goal will be unsuccessful.

Getting truth or disseminating truths is seemingly the purpose for i/f dialogue. Perhaps the purpose is just curiosity. Interfaith dialogue can easily lead gullible souls off course- especially when the false side has convincing arguments. There are thousands of religious beliefs, and nearly all of them are firmly held. If one seeks truth with all their heart, and prays/cries for it with patience, they shall find it. Truth will be revealed and it will be peaceable, gentle, and life giving (without worry). Test the spirits... is it peaceable, gentle, life giving (not taking); is it sound; does it bring a bit of inner excitement as well? Wait for it with faith and patience, and utilize inner discretion when ever you have discussions with others, and the dangers can be avoided. If while discussing you sense darkness, and a knot in your stomach, pull out!
Interfaith dialog helps to eliminate or reduce false stereotypes, prejudices and unjustified fears through direct human communication. For more information about Interfaith Dialog: http://www.interfaithdialog.org
Interfaith dialogue hardly exist. Just another silly theory. The only real example of interfaith joint action is the World Congress of Families that pursues defence and promotion of the natural family. The last congress in Warsaw was attended by different Christian denominations, Jewish people, Mormon, Muslim, etc. However, it's natural for every religion to promote own ideas so an interfaith dialogue is not possible otherwise in the very principle.
