God.

Technically, in Christianity, God is comprised of three people ( there is still one God, just bear with me here):

God the Father, who rules in Heaven

Jesus Christ, the Son of God who was sent to Earth to save the world

and the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God that lives inside Christians today.

they are three parts in one God.

(there are a lot of other names they are known by too: I AM, Messiah, Yahweh, Yeshua, Counselor, ect)

God the father along with His Son Jesus Christ, assisted by the Holy Ghost, the three being absolutely equal in terms of Godhead, power and authority and not to be understood as separate beings.

There is only one true God in Christianity, however some who maintain the name of "Christian" seem to divert from this Biblical truth.

Whereas the contributor of this Question is unknown to us in as an anonymous member, we can possibly surmise from the content that the person seems to not be knowledgeable of the fact that there is only one true God in Christianity, the same God of the Hebrews, yet the Lord acknowledges, in the Scriptures, many false gods. Or the contributor is asking the Question, because of the confusion which exists in what is called Christendom.

In the Old Testament: "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord." Deuteronomy 6:4. As stated in the 10 Commandments: "I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image...Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God..." Exodus 20:2-5.

In the New Testament: Jesus, in His High Priestly prayer said, "Father, the hour is come (His time to die on the Cross for our sins); glorify Thy Son...Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou hast given Him. And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent."

Later it is said: "There is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods...to us (believers) there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things..." 1 Corinthians 8:4-6. "There is one body (the Church), and one Spirit,...one Lord, one faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all..." 1 Corinthians 12:4-6. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." 1 Timothy 2:5,6.

Among the many Scriptures that indicate that there is only one God, Jesus had stated, "I and the Father are one." At that point, Jewish antagonists sought again to stone Him to death. Upon asking them for which of His good works did they seek to execute Him, they said: 'For a good work we stone thee not ; but for blasphemy; and because thou, being a man, makest thyself God." They understood His claim, yet disagreed with Him. But we see in Matthew 1:23, it quotes Isaiah 7:14: "Behold, a virgin shall be with child , and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call Immanuel," to which is added this explanation: "which (name) being interpreted is, God with us."

In John 1:1-3 it states, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made (Greek, ginomai: to create, generate)." Then in verse 14: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) [Scripture's parenthesis], full of grace and truth." Thus, the Scriptures show that Jesus is Creator God.

Compare Colossians 1:14-19, as Christ being Creator God, especially v.19: "For it pleased the Father that in Him (Jesus Christ) should all fullness dwell." And in Colossians2:9: "For in Him (Jesus Christ) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

Therefore, proper teaching is that The Bible maintains that Jesus is Creator God come to earth in the flesh.

The Christian diety is God. He has been called many things (Jehovah, Immanuel, etc.), but for the most part, Christians worship God as opposed to any sort of god. The capital 'G' is very important in marking the difference between God and any other 'god.'

Christians worship one God -- but this one God is a triune godhead, made up of The Father, the Holy Spirit, and (the Son) Jesus Christ (still one). So, it is not the same as for Jews and (certainly not) Muslims.

Christians are monotheists, meaning they worship only one deity, the same deity worshiped by Jews and Muslims. Most simply call this deity God.

Who was the deity of Christianity?

The "deity" IS God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit....but they aren't separate gods, making it polytheistic. You, as an example, are 2 in 1. You yourself, and you your spirit. All one, but seperate in entity. Make sense?
