Win2K is based on the same file system called as NTFS as of NT. But Win2K can also be set up using FAT32 file system a predecessor of NTFS. NTFS allows us to use long file names and is much faster than FAT32 file system.

In win2k, there is a specific help page just for what you are trying to do. Also, consider buying a network card for each machine. You could probably get both for about a total of $50. This would allow much faster and easier data transfers.

Shadow copies. This must be enabled on a volume by volume basis and only works on shares. The client needs to have the previous versions client installed if it is Win2k, Winxp, Vista and Windows 7 already have this built in to the client.

You may have a problem with your mouse driver. I have heard that uninstalling your mouse driver, shutting down your computer and restarting, and re-installing your mouse may fix the problem. This is much easier (automatic) with Windows XP and Vista but less so with Win2k (have your install disk handy). This should not have anything to do with the performance of your computer.

A little more info would help. Who makes your card, ATI, PNY? You can get support at their sites. But first, are you sure you disabled your onboard graphics in the Device Manager before downloading the drivers for your new card? What OS? You may have to start in Safe Mode if you have Win2K.
