Winter waves on the other hand are forceful and steep. Another name for these waves are destructive waves as they erode and take sand from the beach. Winter waves are continual and more regular and frequent than summer waves and have a higher wave height. These waves are steep and often contain large amounts of sand taken from the beach. During the winter beaches are often narrow and have a lot less sand than summer.
