AC - Alternating current , means the sign wave alternates +180 degrees to -180 degrees. this is the most common of power supplys , such as the power to your house etc.
DC - direct current , is a steady source of power on a straight wave form , although the wave can be altered , DC is mostly found in batteries or Rectifiers .

we can convert a dc supply to an ac supply using inverters. Its a common operation which we observe in our daily lives dc can be converted to Ac using an undulator.

when the dc supply given, dc load line lies in the Ic and Vcc. when the AC supply given, AC load line lies in the Ic and Vcc.

We use DC supply, Detector is also a DC current detector and we use only resistive components no need for wegner's earthing device balancing time is comparatively less.. where as in AC bridges opposite of above. i.e. AC supply, AC current detector resisitive+ reactive componants need for wagner's earthing device and balancing time is high as we use AC supply..
