Alas, most of the limestone casing of the Great Pyramids was stripped for construction of Mosques and other buildings over several hundred years. Step pyramids were one of the first pyramids ever built while true pyramids were just an improvement. Only one step pyramid was ever built while there are several true pyramids throughout Egypt and the Valley of the Kings.
