Whales are mammals which means that they have lungs. Fish do not have lungs, they have gills.

Whales also have a different way of swimming than fish. They move their tail fin up and down to move forward. While fish move their tail fin left to right to move forward.

Whales also communicate with each other through whale songs. Fish cannot.

What are the differences similarities between whales fish and Hunting?

Similarities: * Whales, dolphins and fish are all vertebrates * They all need to live in water and cannot survive out of water for long * They all have a streamlined body shape, with dorsal and pectoral fins Differences: * Whales and dolphins are mammals, but fish are simply classified as "fish" * Fish have scales (even a shark has fine scales); whales and dolphins have smooth skin * Fish breathe through gills; whales and dolphins use lungs and a blowhole, which really functions like a nose, on top of their heads * Most fish lay eggs, while whales and dolphins give birth to live young * Fish are cold blooded; whales and dolphins are warm-blooded * Swimming motions are different: Fish moves through the water by using their body muscles to push their tails side-to-side; whales and dolphins move by pushing their tails up and down

Why has evolution made whales look similar to fish?

It is called convergent evolution. When two different animals have to adapt to the same environment (both whales and fish have to adapt to marine environments) evolution will make them start to look similar, even though they will still retain fundamental differences. For example, whales are mammals, and fish are... fish

What type fish are killer whales?

A whale is not a fish?

All whales are mammals as they need to surface to breath air (a fish doesn't). Whales reproduce by internal fertilisation between bull and cow whales (fish use external fertilisation and lay eggs). There are many other differences, but the two examples above should prove that fish and aquatic animals are different. Keep a whale underwater long enough and it will drown. keep a fish out of water long enough and it will die.
