You are not supposed to have a sight on a shotgun because you don't aim when shooting.
You can however use a bead, black or with some color to help you. If you however look AT the bead you will be too slow.
or you can use a holographic sight like the Redring sight where you don't look at the sight but keep focus on the target and still have a ring letting you see where the burst spread pattern is.
AnswerShotguns don't have sights. Just a bead at the front of the barrel. Incorrect. Some shotguns do just have a bead at the muzzle's end ... but, shotguns do indeed have aiming sights available. Typically, a shotgun designed to shoot rifled slugs will have conventional, adjustable iron sights with the rear sight mounted in the area above the trigger & and a blade sight ... sometimes with a colored line on the front sight. A typical name for shotgun sights is called Ghost Ring Sights. It came standard on my Mossberg 500 12 Ha. Shotgun.
Stock and sights.
Typically shorter barrel, different sights, larger magazine capacity. And black or dark gray in color.
The differences lie primarily in the diameters.
For MANY firearms (but not all) the sights may be adjustable by the user. However, in the case of a shotgun with bead sights, or a revolver with fixed sights, they are not adjustable. Some semi=auto pistols have sights that can be adjusted by a gunsmith. Most rifles will have a user-adjustable sight.
