Narration, on the other hand, is the telling of the actual action of the story, as opposed to showing it through scene. An example of exposition would be: John looked at Bob and hated him; it wouldn't take much for him to pick something up and beat him senseless with it. Notice that information about John's feelings concerning Bob is imparted. An example of narration would be: John hated Bob so much that he grabbed the Baseball bat and chased Bob down, beating him bloody. Notice that we have been told about a story action.
