The Tab key can be used for this function in Microsoft Excel. There are many keyboard shortcuts that can replace using your mouse to click all over the screen. Exploring some of these shortcuts will save you time and energy while you make a spreadsheet.
I believe the only Microsoft program used to create spreadsheets is Microsoft Excel.

It is not necessarily more logical. However, Word is seen to be a simpler application to use and learn. Having learned it, there are a lot of things in it that you will also find in Excel. Things like the interface, keyboard shortcuts, icons, formatting etc. If you have already used Word, then you have already some knowledge of elements in using Excel, so you do not have to learn them again. That means you can focus your attention more on the things that are different and more complex in Excel.
It is a spreadsheet program. This can also be used for editing charts.
