What are the disadvantages of a desktop computer?

They usually come loaded with unnecessary programs, fondly referred to by geeks as "crapware." Also, you are limited to what they have in the store, and the sales people work on commission...which automatically makes their suggestions suspect. That is not to say that computer sales people are either unknowledgeable or dishonest, but simply that times are hard and they make the most money from selling items with the highest profit margin. We suggest checking some of the online vendors.

^ this is not entirely true, building your computer can have many perks, but also many troubles. Often people get frustrated when building the actual computer, but aside from that stuff can get outdated but if you build the computer correctly it should be fast as hell.

According to the Yahoo Voices website there are a variety of disadvantages to buying Dell computers. Some of the disadvantages that are mentioned are that they are unreliable, they use refurbished parts, non standard parts and have very poor customer service.
