If you are upgrading from Windows 98 you will need to be sure you have enough system resources (RAM memory especially) as Windows 7 requires more from your computer and Win98 was released at a time when most computers shipped with half a Gigabyte of memory or less. Windows 7 works best with several Gigabytes of RAM.
