In Church of God in Christ the Minister of Music is over all choirs and choir directors also you must remember every church may set their Minister of music over more than just choir they also are over everyone how preform with an instrument and all mucsical services as well as out going engagements where the choirs or singing groups are required to sing at. Remember duties are passed down from the leader so they may vary from according to leadership
Each church is different. It will depend on what the congregation requires of these leaders. In small churches they are the same person just leading the music
They do not play music at The Church of God. Acapella singing of the church of God is the only form allowed.
at your local church
what are the duties for ministry of music
Yes of course!! Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) listen to all kinds of music! Most Mormons avoid music that is not uplifting, but what counts as 'uplifting' all depends on your personal taste.
The Churches of Christ do not believe in use of music,or choirs. They believe in congregational singing, they also believe the Lords Supper should be taken every week on the first day as Jesus did with his Disciples .The thing about the sandals I don't know about .I was raised going to a Church of Christ- that's the first I've heard of that one. Oh and lest I forget Baptism by immersion by a confessing believer.AnswerThis is an interesting and in-depth question. Being a methodist myself, I can safely say that there are many differences....far too many to list in this forum. Methodists and Church of Christists have been bickering endlessly on all of these differences. The single greatest discrepancy of these two factions is whether or not the Lord our savior wears sandals or not. AnswerNo music in the Church of Christ? But which "Church of Christ?" In the small country of New Zealand, there are no less than four denominations calling themselves the "Church of Christ." The only one that I'm familiar with does have instrumental music, but some of the others may not.
There are people with the last name DeFranco that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church), but the 1970's family music group is not Mormon.
One key difference is their views on baptism: Church of Christ typically practices believer's baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, while Methodists practice infant baptism as a symbol of God's grace. Additionally, Church of Christ emphasizes a cappella singing in worship, while Methodists may use a variety of musical instruments. The two denominations also differ on the structure of church leadership and governance.
There are many types of rock music, and while some of the rock music types and bands are anti christ, rock music in general is not anti christ. It's just awesome!
