This is such a broad questions as it can have many different answers since this is a global issue. Since I'm in California, I'll discuss our issues here. Ethics is our basis between determining whats right from wrong and for a long time slaughterhouses have flown well under the radar. Of course cattle and pigs fate is to be killed, but many are tortured and/or neglected beforehand. Is it right to stick it an animal with a hot iron rod in places it should not be poked? Is it right to send these animals into the hot water burner when they are still alive because there were not fulled stunned or there neck was not cut properly to ensure a quick death? The sick animals that are covered in disease...why are they neglected and put into the meat line for slaughter? This is just a tid bit of some ethical issues for American slaughterhouses. If this disturbs you, please look into voting this year for Yes on Prop 2. Another issue we are having locally in our channels is the fish are disappearing from the ocean. An experienced fisherman should fish away from certain areas of the water to ensure that breeding cycles remain intact. As a result of poor commercial fishing habits, many areas are coming up short because they are not given a chance to go through the necessary breeding cycles. What can we expect for the future?
It's incredibly annoying but a brilliant strategy, though. If in a public place, there might be legal issues involved. if in a commercial area, you remove potential buyers. Might have some effects on other animals as well.

They are not ethical, their use is cheating and they have harmful, long term side effects.
The information retained in any particular software is an ethical issue associated with technology. Technology is also used to track customers, which raises additional ethical issues.
