A subject and a verb is all that is required to make a sentence:
Mary sings. (subject Mary, verb sings)
Mary sings Opera.
My friend, Mary, sings opera.
When she has the opportunity, my friend, Mary, sings opera.
When she has the opportunity, my friend, Mary, who is from Florida, sings opera.
When she has the opportunity, my friend, Mary, who is from Florida, sings opera at our church.
No matter how much other information is added, the basic sentence is "Mary sings."
As with most rules for the English language, there is an exception to the rule requiring a subject and a verb to constitute a sentence. That is a sentence with an implied subject. This type of sentence is more often spoken than written:
Go. (The implied subject is "you".)
Keep off the grass.
Bring my glasses, please.
