Everyone favors Seven Mile Beach because of its beautiful water and soft sand.
Seven Mile also is the largest and most accessible beach on Grand Cayman Island.
The southern end is located within walking distance of the cruise port, which makes that section the most crowded.
The northern end, which has many of the hotels and resorts, is less crowded.
Other popular beaches include Public Beach, Governor's Beach and Rum Point.
Public Beach is exactly what it is named. It is a section of Seven Mile that has public facilities including restrooms and dressing areas. Getting there takes about a 10-minute car or taxi ride.
Governor's Beach also is part of Seven Mile and located farther north of Public. It is so named because it is right next to the governor's mansion for the Cayman Islands.
Rum Point is more remote and located on the norther part of the island. Its remoteness makes it more quiet and less crowded.
