Chemistry identifies much more than five elements, but in the earlier Aristotelian model, the fifth element was called the quintessence. If you want to know what is the fifth element that appears on the periodic table of elements, that is boron.
The five elements of the earth are: air, fire, water, earth and the fifth is sometimes listed as metal and sometimes as ether. It depends on what civilization you're studying as to what the fifth element will be.
spirit is the 5th element
Oxygen, Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, and the fifth one is arguable this are the five elements
I think that you will find that there are ten so called elements of life. These are contained in the Ten Commandments. Why be satisfied with just five when there are five more to help and guide you through life?. In Indian metaphysics there are five elements of live from which whole life force is originated Namely these are @earh@air @water@fire @akash or sabad.
.............. There's no Inuyasha movie five.......

Quint means five, as in quintuplets. Essence in this word means elemental, essential, fundamental. Have you seen the film The Fifth Element? In medieval times it was believed that there were four elements: earth, air, fire and water. People believed that every single physical thing was composed of some proportion of these elements, not unlike our current understanding of elements coming together to form all the things around us. There was a mysterious fifth element, the element that makes up the stars. So quintessential means related to the most profound, mysterious fundamental component of a thing, or of a concept as the word is used today.
Aether was known as a "transmission medium". This is due to it's connection to alchemy. But this connection has been extended. Carl Jung connected alchemy to midlife depression. After air (intellect), water (intuition), fire (feeling) and earth (sensation), aether is the fifth element. The five elements are siblings (quintuplets). While the first four are conscious elements, aether is an unconscious element. In medieval alchemy, aether was invisible, and was considered a "transmission medium". To be productive in the second half of life, the four elements must act through the fifth. Part of the Ego's purpose in journeying into the unconscious, is to reunite the four elements it carries with the one left behind. In dreams, the Ego does not see the fifth element. It's presence is confirmed, by other aspects or characters in the dream. http://sites.google.com/site/jungalchemy/
