Aluminum is a metal, it has an atomic structure with 3 electrons in its outer shell, it is a very useful material with many commercial applications, and it could be considered to be an example of each of these 3 categories of things, and many others as well. It is also a shiny thing, a hard thing, a corrosion-resistant thing, an element that combines readily with oxygen, and a constituent of many types of jewels, in the form of aluminum oxide.
