You have to pull the stater and grind a space in the adaptor for a socket to clear to the torque convertor bolts.
Flywheel or torque converter.Flywheel or torque converter.
Remove the starter and the dust shield. Remove the four bolts (spaced every 90 degrees around the flywheel) and then the torque converter will be loose.
there is no said timing on that flywheel.i think what your asking is i cant get all the torque bolts in.the torque bolt up is offset in one spot.so if you didnt line the torque before you put in trans.then all you can do is put the bolts in one by one turning the flywheel and if it doesnt line up take the bolts all out and turn torque one bolt hole and start again until you have them all in.don't tighten the 4 bolts until all 4 are in and hand tight
Externally by the flywheel or torque converter.
Put some blue locktight on the bolt threads which hold the flywheel to the crank then torque to 55 Ft-lbs
the correct torque for these bolts is as follows: 96lbs
yes
The flywheel just bolts up, remove the bolt.
How do I get to the flywheel bolts on a 98 dodge dakota to remove a transmission
the flywheel in an auto is called a flex plate yes it can be installed backwards, but it will cause problems the ring gear for the starter will not be at the correct distance for starter to engage. the torque converter for the transmission bolts onto the flex plate. the flexplate has balancing weights on it. these weights will be in the way of properly mounting the torque converter
disconnect driveshaft, use long bolts to slide the tranny back use a small prybar or long screwdriver to turn the flywheel, it is attached to the torque converter, make sure bolts are tight when reinstalling the fly
