Our music here in the Phils., became like pop, rock, or in short, fast-tuned songs not like before. Because before, we only sing native songs which are slow-tuned songs matched with with slow actions/dance moves. And other countries' songs became even more popular here in the Phils. than our OPM songs. Yes, today we also have slow-tuned songs but not as "native" or as "cool" to hear or sing like before.
Most likely the same music that was played in America at the time, along with Spanish music because Spain had owned the Philippines for four centuries, and Fillipino music.
