Galileo discovered the four largest moons of Jupiter in between sometime in 1609 to 1610.
They are called Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.
They range from the size of Earth's Moon to the size of the planet Mercury.

Jupiter has far more than 4 moons. The main 4 are IO, Ganymede, Europa and Callisto. These are the first 4 observed by Galileo and are commonly referred to as the Galilean Moons.
