The only "red moon" I am aware of is a lunar eclipse - where just enough light strikes the moon to make it look a dull, coppery red. There are no "gasses" connected with it, though.
No, there are no gases on the moon as there is no atmosphere.
The Moon is not a star because a star is made of a gases.
Luna, our moon, is made mostly of rocks.
The moon does not have an atmosphere. Actually the moon does have an atmospere but it's very small. The moon isn't big enough to hold many gases. Not enough gravity...
A red moon occurs during a total lunar eclipse when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow on the moon. The moon appears red as the Earth's atmosphere scatters sunlight, causing the longer-wavelength red light to reach the moon.
