There are very few drawbacks to SG glasses. These are the 3D glasses used by Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and others for their active 3D systems. They need to be charged at intervals but other than that, they are similar to any other glasses.
The active glasses are needed to be able to view 3D in full HD resolution. The passive glasses that do not need batteries are only used on systems such as LG with 540 line resolution.

I did have this problem a month back but after getting FPR 3D glasses I am enjoying watching it for longer hours. My friend, SG glasses are heavier and re-chargeable batteries but in the case of FPR 3D the glasses are lighter and battery free, so the best possible solution is to go for FPR 3D glasses.

No my friend you cannot have LG 3D TV glasses separately. To get the glasses you have to buy LG 3D TV with new FPR technology. In SG type 3D TV technology the 3D effect comes out from the glasses but in the case of FPR technology the 3D effect comes out from the TV.
