Iowa had the highest overall scores in 2007, with students averaging 613 on the Math, 608 on the Critical Reading, and 586 on the Writing.
This data is somewhat misleading, however, because only 4 percent of Iowans took the test, presumably only those that felt they would do well on it. Other states, such as Maine, have much lower scores, but have 100 percent participation, meaning that there was no selection for preparedness.

Yes, Roxbury Latin has the highest SAT scores in the nation, with an average of 2230 out of 2400
How about the HUMAN RACE?
Colleges use SAT exam scores in different ways. Some schools consider only the math and reading scores and not the essay score. Some schools are fine with seeing only your highest SAT exam score, while others want to see them all (even if you want to release only the best results under the new SAT score policy). It's common for a student to take the SAT exam twice or even more. In fact, many students report that their scores increase the second time. When you know exactly what scores a college will receive, you can make an informed decision on whether taking the SAT exam again is the best choice for you.
SAT score requirements vary drastically, and while some top-notch colleges require high scores, there are many schools that hardly pay any attention to the scores.
from what i researched its around 1,100 but this might have been when the highest sat score you could get was 1,600
The maximum SAT score is 2400 (800 for each of the 3 sections). The average score for the SAT is about 1500, so in this case, an SAT score of 1540 is about around the 50th percentile - that is, about 50% of the scores were higher, and about 50% of the scores were lower.
The scores a student needs on the SAT or ACT depends on where he or she wants to attend college. Some colleges and universities are test optional and do not require admission test scores. Some schools will admit students with below average scores, but other schools have very high standards and only admit students with top scores.
PSAT scores give you a general idea of what score you would make on the SAT. Adding a zero to your PSAT score gives you a ballpark number of what you would make on the real thing. The highest score possible on the PSAT is a 240, while the highest score on the SAT is a 2400. The PSAT is not an acceptable test to send to colleges in place of SAT scores. However, the PSAT can earn you recognition with scholarships for making a high enough score.
I've sat through 4 different college admissions discussions with representatives of 7 different Universities. Almost all accept the highest SAT score when making admissions decisions.
SAT scores are interpreted on the highest to the lowest. The higher the score the better you have done. If your score is low, it means that you did very poorly.
The highest SAT scores can be found at www.satscores.us. Visit the site and find the scores of all the states. It is very important to get a high score to get a good seat and also a good scholarship. wish u good luck
No... Canadian schools do not require SAT scores. However, if you are an international student applying from the US, chances are they will request it (Especially top ranked schools like McGill)
