I think any vet can work with large zoo animals because a vet works with all animals unless they specialise in a certain animal
not sure...dying to know though
Horses, cows, sheep, farm animals mainly. When you're a zoo vet you get to deal with everything, from cubs to elephants.
Zoo Vet happened in 2004.

Zoo Vet was created in 2004-12.
What if. Get good grades, then become a vet, a zoo person, or a pet owner.
If you want to work with animals you should either be a zoo keeper, a vet, or a taxidermist if you like animals dear OR alive!
You first go to veterinary school for 4 years to get a DVM degree. Then you apply for an internship at a zoo for 1 year. After that, you apply for a residency in zoo animal medicine at a zoo or other college that has that specialty offered. It is very difficult to get these zoo animal internships and residencies as there are very few positions available with a large number of applicants.
Some vets specialise in small animals and domestic pets. Other vets may specialise in farm animals, horses, and other large breeds. Sometimes, a vet may be called upon to look after zoo animals as part of the vet's normal practice.
