You can't tell. The area doesn't tell you the dimensions. There are an
infinite number of rectangles, all with different lengths and widths, that
all have 512 for an area.
Before I list a few of them for you, you need to know that "512 yards" is
not an area. "512 square yards" is.
Here are a few rectangles, all with area of 512 square yards:
18inches x 1,024yds
1yds x 512yds
2yds x 256yds
4yds x 128yds
6yds x 85yds 1ft
8yds x 64yds
16yds x 32yds
20yds x 25yds 1ft 9.6inches
Area = Length x Width so... 4 yards x 3 yards = 12 square yards
The width is 34/17 = 2 yards
Area = length x width, so length = area/width = 116/4 = 29 yds
length = 12/3 = 4 yards
length times width
12 yards
Area = Length x Width so... 4 yards x 3 yards = 12 square yards
The width is 34/17 = 2 yards
The width is 7 yards. Area = length x width 56 = 8 x ? 56 = 8 x 7
553.32
It could be: length 3 yards and width 54 yards, OR length 6 yards and Width 27 yards. All you have to do is think of it this way: If the area is 162 square yards, what two numbers multiplied together equal 162?
"12 yards" is not an area. I must assume that you meant to saythat the area is 12 square yards.Then the length is 4 yards.
Area = length x width, so length = area/width = 116/4 = 29 yds
The area of a rectangle is calculated by multiplying the length by the width. The formula for the area of a rectangle is Area = Length x Width.
For a rectangle or square, Area = Length * Width So Length = Area / Width.
A = lw Area of a rectangle = length times width
length = 12/3 = 4 yards
