ground clutter and evaporation are the limitations of radar maps
What are the limitations of the following maps, Physical, political, Landsat.Photomosaic & Chloropleth Maps?
they are not always correct
You can predict volcanic activity because there are seismic activities as close to 15 minutes before to a day before to even a week before. You can predict earthquakes by measuring the movement of the crust by a fault zone. Seismologists also use terrestrial laser scanning equipment, which can measure changes in the ground shape, or by using a special form of radar and a technique called synthetic aperture radar interferometry. This process essentially involves the use of a radar to create a series of very accurate relief maps of the ground surface over time and then to compare the maps to create a final plot showing the changes between them, which is a record of the land surface deformation.
In terms of cartography: Sketch (maps): Roughly drawn maps which may be inaccurate but can be quickly created. Maps: Should be accurate. Can be any scale. Features are drawn in their true position (within limitations of scale). Can be topographic; thematic; political etc. Diagrams: a cross-section etc. (aerial) Photograph: can look accurate but will be at different scales in various parts of the map because of distance from camera and pitch & yaw of aircraft. Plans: very Large Scale maps showing lots of detail. maybe of a single site.

There are 5 types of weather maps. There are Pressure Maps, Station Model Maps, Aviation Maps, Temperature Maps, and Streamline Maps.

The three Dimensional maps created a revolution in the field of navigation and medical and also in the engineering field. The advantage of 3D maps are that it can give the idea of all the dimensions and hence better designs can be created by looking at the 3d maps and the conventional maps were not that much informative compared to 3D maps are

There are several types of radar maps including those for search and rescue or air traffic control. Weather radar maps are comprised of a frequency selected to maximize precipitation (rain/snow) reflectivity while minimizing adverse effects. While not normally noticeable on a city-scale weather radar plot, many artifacts can be present including birds and insects; chaff dropped by military aircraft; Solid obstacles such as mountains, buildings, and aircraft.
Sonar, RADAR and satellites and space travel improved the accuracy of maps after World War 2.
