Stepping outside the bounds of their professional expertise and definition. For example, those who work to help integrate people with disabilities with the rest of society cannot ethically be engaged in stepping into the arena of the work being done by medical practitioners, and therapists without first being integrated into a 'team of professionals' and even then there are boundaries. Social workers cannot become personally involved with those for whom they are charged with bettering life. There are professional associations for Social Workers which have web-sites making it clear to the public what the standards of ethical professionalism are for the membership.
