Age, carbon deposits, and driving an engine with a misfire.
Primary (bank 1 sensor 1) O2 sensor slow or not responding. Wiring or connector to senor or O2 sensor defective. Exhaust leak possible but not likely.
most Ive seen and experienced are - TCS Light - Knock Sensor Failure - O2 Sensor Failure(s) - Auto Steering tilt Failure (motor) - ECG Valve failure
o2 sensor fuel too rich
A short to ground. Check wiring/sensor for damage.
When removing and installing o2 sensor its wise... not to touch the end of the sensor that goes into the manifol with ur greesy fingers.. grease causes it to burn out.
There are many symptoms of a bad O2 sensor. Some are poor fuel efficiency, flashing check engine light, the failure to pass a smog test, and rough idling.
Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the sensor AFTER the catalytic converter. Causes could be,A faulty O2 sensor, Exhaust leak near the sensor, Damaged catalytic converter, Damaged wiring to O2 sensor,
The oxygen sensor is "done". It should be replaced.
bad o2 sensor on left bank
Depends on what the problem is or what code was set.
9 time out of 10, the heater circuit internal to the sensor has failed. Replace the sensor.
on the drivers side underneath the engine by the front tire. You will notice a pigtail leading to the exhaust in this area. This o2 sensor is the main sensor, there should be a catalytic o2 sensor located after the converter.
