tHE TERM 'CLASSICAL' MEANING THE 8TH CENTURY COMPOSERS SUCH AS MOZART AND HAYDN. IT IS MAINLY THE HARMONY USED(VERY TRADITIONAL CHORDS AND PROGRESSIONS) AND THE FORM OR DESIGN (SONATA-ALLEGRO-ABA-AB ETC.)
Some characteristics of classical music are;
* an alberti bass * a very prominent form/structure eg - sonata form, ternary form, binary form...etc * even four-bar phrases * a cadence to end a phrase * detailed articulation * not too much use of the lower keyboard * light * playful (especially for Mozart's music)
