A gurdwara typically features an open and welcoming layout, emphasizing community and spirituality. At the heart is the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture, placed on a raised platform called the Takht or Palki, often surrounded by a carpeted area for prayer and meditation. The main hall is designed for congregational worship, with seating arranged to face the scripture. Additionally, gurdwaras often include a langar hall for communal meals, reflecting the principles of equality and service in Sikhism.
Inside the Gurdwara, there are beautiful beaded cloths all over the throne (tat) and over the Guru Granth Sahib. There are also lots of colorful sequined banners hanging from the ceilings. The carpet is usually red and quite comfy. Also in a Gurdwara there is lots of posters with the holy Guru Nanak on it. Around the main Diwan room, there are banners with religious words/teachings. There is usually music playing from the musicians (Ragees) and the whole experience is quite cosy.

There are different rooms in the gurdwara. If it to be classed as a gurdwara it must contain a langer hall and a copy of the Guru Granth Sahib. Most Gurdwaras also contain a School Room to teach young Sikhs teachings and basic subjects, a kitchen to prepare food to be served in the langer hall. A shoe room to leave shoes in as they are not allowed in the gurdwara to show respect to the guru. A rest room is also included and several toilets. Hope this helps!
There is no such thing as a main hall.
