As above, the water, atmostpheric pressure, and temperature aren't concducive to human life. But there's another issue: response time. Right now, we have the technology to build a station on Mars. But if something went wrong, it would take us two or three years to get a repairman there!
Because it takes so long to get there, any settlement on Mars would have to be COMPLETELY self-sustaining, and that's what's really holding us up. (We couldn't even keep the International Space Station going as long as it should have).
To sustain life on Mars you will need an atmosphere same as the earth. The plant life over there can be grown to an extent as it is sort off highly alkaline and an advantage of not being acidic. With genetics there can be plant life supported easily. The temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold . ( around 55 degrees c to 70 ) So you will be needing a better clothing. With great knowledge in biotech and chemistry and a little bit of physics. Life can be supported on Mars as there is no other planet which has earth like qualities.
There is no liquid water on Mars and no magnetic field to protect it from solar radiation. We know that there was water on Mars billions of years ago, before the magnetic field disappeared, and scientists speculate that there may once have been life.
There Would Be Volcanos And Bad Air On Mars.
It's not capable to sustain life, the environment is too harsh, too hot, and there is no water or vegetation.
Lack of oxygen, water, and less sunlight than the Earth. A huge plastic bubble could solve.
Oxygen water more of a solid surface
Metabolism?
Oxygen, Nitrogen and Carbon dioxide, in that order. The most important element to sustaining life is Oxygen.
Atomic number
The environmental problem caused by sulphur dioxide is Acid rain which can affects plantation, aquatic life and wild life.
it takes 88 days for mars to complete its revolution round the sun
Scientists would like to know if there is water on mars because if it is there the planet has the possibility of sustaining life.
The earth has a very thin layer of life-sustaining gasses (known as the atmosphere) surrounding it, mars does not.
No. Though traces of water has been found, Mars is incapable of sustaining life.
no it does not have life sustaining and you can not live on it
No, the ear is not vital to sustaining life.
She used her last breath as a life-sustaining breath for me. This very spring proved to be life-sustaining for the pioneers.
There are 2 rovers on mars because so one can go here and find something and the other can find something else some were else. OKAY?
Earth is called a life sustaining planet because it has life on it, and is currently the only known planet that supports life.
life-sustaining
Well, so far, we can say that Earth is the only life sustaining planet if somehow liquid water is found on the mars then by building glass domes, we can be able to love up there. :-)
Currently, Mars has a very thin atmosphere composed primarily of carbon dioxide, with concentrations around 95%. However, the atmospheric pressure on Mars is about 100 times lower than Earth's, making it inhospitable for sustaining human life without proper life support systems.
life-sustaining, essential
