first answer: The Filipinos joined the Americans by taking to the mountains and fighting a guerilla style war until MacArthur had "returned". Filipino and US Rangers worked together in freeing US and Filipino POW's at Cabanatuan and at Los Banos. Many Filipinos risked their lives for lives for Americans during the Bataan death march.
